Oral Therapy

Acetaminophen (Paracetamol, acts as analgesic)

Dose: 325 to 650 mg every 4 to 6 hours (maximum dose 4 g/day)

Tramadol (acts as analgesic)

Dose: 50-100 mg every 4-6 hours (maximum dose 400 mg/day)

Acetaminophen/codeine

Dose:300-1,000 mg/15-60 mg every 4 hours as needed (maximum dose 4 g/360 mg/day)

Acetaminophen/oxycodone

Dose: 325-650 mg/2.5-10 mg every 6 hours as needed (maximum dose 4,000/40 mg/day)

Aspirin, plain, buffered, or enteric-coated

Dose: 325-650 mg every 4-6 hours for pain (maximum dose 3,600 mg/day)

Salsalate

Dose: 500-1,000 mg two to three times/day (maximum dose 3 g/day)

Diflunisal

Dose: 500-1,000 mg two times/day (maximum dose 1.5 g/day)

Choline salicylate

Dose: 500 -1,000 mg two to three times/day (maximum dose 3 g/day)

Choline magnesium salicylate

Dose: 500-1,000 mg two to three times/day (maximum dose 3 g/day)
